Harriet the Spy was Such a Scorpio (or 8th Houser)
This tweet recently came across my feed and it made me think about how people with big 8th house or scorpio energy are so much better at handling crisis situations and staying calm in chaos than those who don’t, and this clip from the opening of the 1996 Harriet the spy movie is a perfect example.
So she’s at the market, doing her daily spy work—as one does—and when all heck breaks loose after a pick pocketer gets exposed and starts fleeing the scene, Harriet doesn’t even flinch.
Why? Because it’s like that tweet said: Scorpios and 8th housers are often pretty adept at navigating crisis and chaos, but really it’s because…she saw it coming. Or rather, she had been observant enough to see it coming. She’d been observing and hyper fixated about what was going on beneath the surface, and therefore was not surprised or caught off guard once those underground goings on naturally made their way to the surface.
And honestly, that’s the secret to that 8th houser/scorpio super power, which everyone can stand to learn from, lowkey: pay attention!
There can be this mystique around Scorpio or 8th house energy, where it can seem as if they’re psychic or supernatural in some way, and maybe chile 😭🤷🏾♀️, but it really just boils down to them being very tapped in and attuned to what’s going on beneath the surface. Them taking an interest in the parts of life no one else is paying attention to. And in surface level society or culture such as ours, that is kind of a superpower.
