About Me
-
I’m Jada Water! I’m not an expert or the authority on anything, but I like to think of myself as a philosopher in the way that Pythagoras defined it: “Whereas wise men had called themselves sages, or those who know, a philosopher is one who is attempting to find out.”
-
I facilitate healing, transformation, spiritual development and community-building by sharing observations, insights & personal experiences with philosophy, astrology, mythology and Pan-African cosmologies.
I work to bridge the gap between time and space, reconnecting individuals and communities to the intelligences, perspectives and practices of our indigenous ancestors to help foster a holistic and spiritually aligned way of navigating the world.
I share insights via my blog, YouTube and social media, and provide both one-on-one and group guidance and consultations.
-
I do this work because I believe that embracing and re-integrating the esoteric and metaphysical aspects of existence into our everyday lives will help:
Re-align humanity with the same life-affirming creative cycle that governs the cosmos,
Re-fortify our foundations for living,
Re-unify us as one and
Re-create the internal and external conditions required for harmony, peace and justice to prevail.
-
I do this work by uncovering, understanding and communicating life-affirming wisdom that positions myself and others to:
Discern and then withdraw our energy from (a.k.a. destroy) toxic patterns, practices, systems and institutions.
Experiment with and invest our energy into perspectives, tools and practices that facilitate understanding (of self, others and the natural world), spiritual connection/alignment and a sense of community.
-
I believe in a single Source Consciousness—which I alternatively refer to as God, Spirit, Source Energy, the Divine, etc.—and that IT manifests and expresses itself in myriad different tangible and intangible forms.
I believe that there is a spiritual side to every single aspect of our material reality, and that you can’t fully understand one without also assessing the other.
I believe in the unity of worlds (seen and unseen), and that everything is connected and in conversation with each other.
I believe that the order and highly adaptable laws of the Universe are fixed, and, as Molefi K. Asante wrote in The Egyptian Philosophers, “now, all things [depend] upon how well humans [operate] within the framework of the universe’s own constitution.” Some things are set and fated while others are dependent upon our own agency, making us co-creators with the Divine.
I believe that knowledge of the Divine—as well as answers to age-old questions like “What is the meaning of life?” and “What is the purpose of our lives?”—are found by studying the world around you and the world inside you. Metaphysical sciences and wisdom traditions are the product of this study.
I believe that astrology, tarot, divination, etc. are highly effective tools for understanding, navigating and strengthening our connection with Source.
I believe that, when taught through an enlightened and allegorical lens, Christianity and other religious cosmologies can have immense value.
I believe that, as Asante wrote, “In the end, good will triumph over evil, although it might take a long time and many instances of conflict.” (good = integration, balance & connection; evil = disconnection, imbalance & disfunction)

I am rooted in the seboyet, or the wisdom literature of ancient Kemet (indigenous Egyptian), which took a wholistic, interconnected approach to the study of human life and the environment, resulting in Maat: a highly adaptable set of protocols, meanings, concepts, ideas and processes for understanding and engaging with the world in a manner that brings a sense of stability into our lives. Maat represents justice, harmony and balance.
I build on the foundations of wholism and interconnection by studying the teachings of Dagara shamans Malidoma Somé and Sobonfu Somé, who utilize concepts of healing, ritual and community as a means to support individual and communal stability in all areas of life.
Within that composite framework, I use the following tools:
Western/tropical astrology + whole sign house system (this is the system I use to analyze charts).
Vedic astrology (for archetypal education & insights).
Human Design
Tarot
I also utilize the immense insights I’ve gained from:
The Dhammapada (Buddhism)
The Teachings of Rumi (Islamic mysticism)
The Kybalion (Hermetic philosophy)
The I Ching (Chinese cosmology/philosophy/divination)
Various works by Joseph Campbell (world mythology)
And so many more.
“Art, literature, myth and cult, philosophy, and ascetic disciplines are instruments to help the individual past his limiting horizons into spheres of ever-expanding realization…it is possible to speak from only one point at a time, but that does not invalidate the insights of the rest.” - Joseph Campbell, The Hero With a Thousand Faces
